What is NamasteBharat?
NamasteBharat is a messaging application. NamasteBharat has features such as messaging, group messaging, audio and video calls, audio and video conferencing, collaboration, group messaging, setting up scheduled meeting, etc.
Download and Installation:
Downloading NamasteBharat :
For Android, search for NamasteBharat in playstore and tap download.
For iPhone, search for NamasteBharat in appstore and tap download.
We encourage you to always use the latest available version of NamasteBharat.
NamasteBharat has end-to-end encryption. All your messages, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, status updates and calls are end-to-end encrypted.There is no need to turn on settings or set up special secret chats to secure your messages.
Important: End-to-end encryption is always activated. There's no way to turn off end-to-end encryption.
How to Register?
You can register through phone number. Your mobile number will be verified via one Time Verification Code that users will receive on the entered mobile number.
How to delete chat history?
You can delete a single message or the entire conversation. In case of single message or multiple messages within a chat you can just tap and hold the message/messages until they are selected and then you can select delete from the action menu that appears on top once items are selected. If you want to delete the entire conversation then you can press and hold the chat and then tap delete from the menu. This will delete the entire chat thread.
Auto delete messages/photos
You can set the messages/photos that are sent to be auto deleted on both sides within specified time. By default it is turned off. You can turn this feature on via settings.
How do I know my messages have been read or not?
Once message is sent, a single tick will appear which denotes the message has been delivered but not read yet. Tick changing to a double tick indicates that the message has been read by the recipient. You can choose to turn off read receipts from NamasteBharat settings.
Push notifications in Android devices?
In some Android devices push notifications will be turned off for NamasteBharat because of device manufacturer limitation. Please follow the links below to allow push notifications in these Vivo, MI, Redmi devices:
How do I block a user?
Go to contact details of a saved contact and tap on ‘BLOCK’. To block an unknown contact who has sent a message, open the chat and from the action bar select ‘Block’. This will block the user from further disturbing you or sending any messages. We do have privacy filter under settings where you can choose different options.
How to start Audio-Video Conferencing?
Users can start audio-video conferencing with their contacts by selecting appropriate option from Conference menu. During video conference user can choose to drop the video and continue to be in the audio as well. Users can also escalate one-to-one call to conference by just adding a party to an existing call
What is ‘Whiteboard’?
NamasteBharat has a digital white board which acts as an actual white board and can be used during meetings and conferences over the app. It can be used to draw free hand diagrams. You can choose colours for your digital marker, use text boxes, etc.
How do groups work?
Groups can be created by any user and the creator of the group is the group admin who has complete control over the group activities. Admin can change group name or remove or add participants, add group icon, enable or disable the group, delete group, etc. Participants can only exit from the group whenever they want.
What are NamasteBharat Maps?
NamasteBharat offers maps service unlike any other chat. We can locate a user with whom we are chatting if they have enabled location services via settings. We can check their real time movement via maps. By default this settings is turned off for security purposes. We can locate our contacts (who have enabled location services) in maps as well.
How to schedule a Meeting?
From the Navigation Bar, navigate to ‘Conference’ and click ‘Schedule a meeting’ from the menu. This will open up a new window where you can edit meeting timings and add participants. Meetings will directly get added to your calendar and you can launch the meeting from the device calendar.
Can I use NamasteBharat on multiple devices?
This is NamasteBharat’s unique feature. Using one NamasteBharat account on multiple phones, or with multiple phone numbers is supported. You can be logged into multiple devices using the same phone number with our unique multi device login feature. If you have a dual SIM, please note that you still must choose one number to verify with NamasteBharat.
Deleting your Account:
You can delete your account from setting. Note that this will erase all your chat history and all your profile information and other user data. Note that this process is irreversible. Once done, your data cannot be recovered.
Changing your NamasteBharat phone number:
Before you stop using a particular phone number, you should migrate your NamasteBharat account to the new number. For a simple way to do this, use our Change Number feature. By using this feature, you will be able to migrate your account information (including your profile information) as well as your groups.
Make sure your contacts delete your old phone number from their phone's address book and input your new number.
Note: You do not need to delete your old account. After successfully using the Change Number feature, your old account will be automatically deleted.
Changing your phone (Different types of phone) –
If you are moving from one type of phone to another, such as from an iPhone to an Android, and preserving your number, you will keep your account info. This information is tied to the phone number. Simply download NamasteBharat on the new phone and verify your number.
If you are moving from one type of phone to another and not preserving your number, simply download NamasteBharat on the new phone and verify the new phone number.
Important: Remember to delete your old account. However, if you did not delete your account and no longer have access to your old phone, do not worry. If the new owner of your old number activates NamasteBharat on a new phone after 45 days, all of your account information tied to that phone number will be completely deleted.
After changing your phone-
Before you give away your old phone, make sure to wipe it of all your data. Remember also to wipe the SD card, if applicable. This ensures that none of your private data, such as your NamasteBharat messages, will fall into someone else's hands.
How to login from browser?
Once you are a registered user of NamasteBharat using a mobile phone/tablet, using QR code option from the NamasteBharat settings to login to Chrome or firefox browser (www.namaste-bharat.in) and continue to use all the features like chat, group conversation, audio-Video calls and conference.
What is Screenshare?
You can share your screen in group conversation/conference with your contacts from Chrome browser (by downloading extension from Chrome store - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/namastebharat ) or firefox browser from your laptop/desktop.
What is Free hand writing?
Once you open other user of Namaste Bharat’s IM view, you can tap on Paint icon and start sending free hand drawing.
What is Pre- Defined text?
Open the IM view of the contact with whom you want to chat and select ‘A‘ Icon in the typing box and choose any word which is pre-defined and send it.
How to add New Pre-Defined text?
Open the IM view of the contact with whom you want to chat and select ‘A‘ Option and choose ‘Plus’ icon in the box and add new words which you want to see in Pre-defined text!
How to Change Presence appearance?
Log in, move to self profile info and select ‘Presence’ option and choose the given Presence options like Online,Offline,Away and Busy and set your Presence.
How does ‘Far End Camera Control’ feature works?
Log in, move to Settings and select ‘Far End Camera Control’ option you can see the
1. Allow zoom – If you allow zoom and initiate Video call to any of the contacts in your contact list, You can zoom the remote video of the other person.
2. Do not allow zoom – If you select Do not allow zoom option, you can not be able to zoom the video whenever you are on a Video call
3. Always ask Permission before zooming – If you select this option, Whenever you try to zoom, it will ask for Permission to the other person on a Video call
What is Privacy filter? How does it works?
Privacy filter is a option in which you can set the Privacy for your own contact by choosing the given options to receive IMs from the respective contacts or from Unknown contacts! You will have three option under Privacy Filter:
1. Only allow people in my address book contacts to contact me – By enabling this option, you can only be able to receive IMs from your contact list only
2. Notify me when someone who is not in my address book is trying to contact me –You will get a notification count in chat view top right corner whenever you receive an IM from unknown number or Whenever a contact who is not in your contact list is trying to reach you or send you a message
3. Allow anyone to reach me – By selecting this option, users will be able to receive messages from unknown numbers and unknown contacts who are not in your contact list.
